JAB was destined for greatness at a young age, born into a household where music was greatly aspired by both parents, and siblings. His mother, a piano player and his father, a guitarist, JAB's first instrument learned was the drums at the age of 6. He later on picked on his parents traits and played both guitar and piano. Music was a big thing in the Broussard household, so after some years, JAB was making a living as a musician, playing for bands and different artists, until he yearned to create his own music.. Creating his own sound came quite easy to his, the ability of being blessed to play so many instruments provided him with a unique talent to create music without the monotonous electronic sound. If the song required a live instrument, that's exactly what he would use, thus being capable of producing everything from Hip-Hop, to Gospel, to Jazz. JAB Production was born.
It was very soon after that major talent would come knocking. Appearing on Lil Bow Wow's debut album Beware of Dog, the single, Bounce Wit Me soared straight to the roof, and was a certified platinum record. He followed his act by working with incredible local talents, producing for Destiny's Child, Survivor project, which became a platinum record, Beyonce Knowles solo debut, Dangerously In Love, another platinum hit.. His work for Beyonce's Dangerously In Love however, took him to an ultimate high in the industry, and is his most known work, to this day. He didn't stop there, he continued to work with other major artists such as, Van Hunt, the Gospel trio, Trin-i-ty 5:7, Adina Howard, Tamar Davis, and even his sister Trina Broussard.
After working with so much talent, JAB had become a go to man, for local artist trying to come up in the industry. Still staying close to his community and willing to work with undiscovered talent, his next major step was to find and develop his own artist from the ground up. He heard a young artist from La Marque TX, by the name of I-Will, and the search was over. His raw and different sound made him the perfect candidate for his major artist development project. He has now founded his own label, UpperKut Records, in 2008, with I-Will as his debut artist, and many more to come. His most recent major project is on Solange Knowles Sophomore album, Sol-Angel and the Hadley St. Dreams, which is a sure platinum album. Still delivering hits in the industry, and the anticipated drop of I-Will's debut Album due out in January of 2009, this is only the beginning for JAB with much more to come.
