Beginning as more of a straight rock band, they have since begun to incorporate other sounds and instruments into their mixes of rock, funk, and other genres. Jack Pine Savage released a self-titled EP in April 2009 and will be releasing a full-length album in the summer of the same year. Their songs "Pirate" and "Venice" have also appeared on two Green Street Records compilation albums entitled No Rights Reserved and Free for All, respectively. Originally a Chicago-based band, the members now hail from various parts of Illinois and have performed from Wichita, Kansas to their home town of Chicago. They perform most frequently in Champaign-Urbana and Bloomington-Normal, Illinois.
