Jaywheelz began making hip-hop music when he was 13. He had nothing but a tape recorder and a dream. Jawheelz started by writing songs to popular instrumentals. He wanted to be a rap star, but from making music in the basement of his grandmother’s house, it seemed like just a dream, far out of his reach. Going into his junior year of high school, he released his first mix-tape, KingJay “The God of Rain.” Some people laughed at his attempt at music – but those that respected KingJay kept him going. He sold more than 200 copies to fellow high school students and soon KingJay was considered a new, up and coming artist. With his smooth delivery and unique style the Kingjay buzz started to expand from McKeesport to Pittsburgh. As the years went on, KingJay became known as Jaywheelz. He collaborated with a group called, “Raw Matter,” who had been in the game for years. Thanks to Pyramid Recording Studio in Avoca, Jaywheelz collaborated with known Wilkesbarre singer, Tracy, and made his first hit single in 2008, titled “U Gotta Have Dreams.” The song earned Jaywheelz and Raw Matter a concert contract with Big Time Entertainment (BTE). Jaywheelz and Raw Matter would hit the stage for the first time in 2008. In Jaywheelz very first concert appearance, Jaywheelz would be the headliner and take on a packed crowd as the grand finale act. He continued to meet success as he performed throughout the Pittsburgh area – the crowds were energetic and his fans were loyal. Jaywheelz captured the stage and delivered a spectacular performance. “Jaywheelz and Raw Matter commanded the stage and kept everyone wanting more,” Ryan Kintz, Producer and Director of BTE, said. The Big Time Entertainment show inspired and motivated an already eager Jaywheelz to get into the studio and make more hit records. While working on his second mix-tape, “ChainSaw Mix-Tape Vol. 1.” Jaywheelz managed to create another big time hit, titled “Life.” This song would be the title and first single off his 2009 album debut. In 2009, Jaywheelz and Raw Matter plan to flood the music world with hit after hit. Jason Williams nearly gave up his lifelong dream to be a hip-hop artist to pursue a professional football career. Now, he will embrace the opportunity to follow his real dream, to make music, and make dreams come true for his family, friends, and true fans of real hip-hop.
