Jenna Despres discovered her love for music at a young age, singing karaoke on her parent’s aging machine. Shortly thereafter, she came to realize that she was also a skilled writer and began to invest her time in writing poetry. Jenna’s journey as an artist was not entirely without struggle. Her stage fright led to rejection from school choirs and roles in local plays, but Jenna was not prepared to give up. Despite these hardships, Jenna moved forward and worked alongside an instructor, who helped her with her fear of the stage and to hone in on her musical career. Initially, Jenna was interested in the production aspect but soon came to realize that singing was her true calling. This calling drew her to Berklee College of Music in Boston. Over the years, she developed a wide array of musical interests and influences-- from legends such as Carole King, Ella Fitzgerald, James Taylor, and Stevie Wonder, to modern acts like Eryah Badu and John Mayer. Like many of these artists, Jenna is now a full time writer and fully invested in her music, continuously developing her career as a singer/songwriter. Jenna has recently been working closely with the SkyeLab Music Group in NYC to produce her latest songs and give her the edge it takes to stand out amongst the crowd.
