Jenn Franklin's music has been heard on MTV's "Real World," on over 175 college radio stations, and in national publications like Performing Songwriter magazine who says, "a bold voice that asserts instant authority...Franklin's confident delivery ensures an indelible impression." She has also showcased at several music conferences including South By Southwest, Midpoint Musicfest, International Folk Alliance, Diversafest, Midwest Music Summit, and Nashville's 2NMC. Franklin's musical beginnings were in rural Kansas, where she began singing in rock bands at age twelve, wowing crowds by covering such artists as Heart, Janis Joplin, and Aretha Franklin. All the while, she was writing powerful pop-rock songs on piano. After her college graduation at Wichita State University, she moved to Nashville, where she met recent Berklee Music graduate, Peter Overton. The two collaborated to record a six-song debut EP, "Errors & Admissions." The project was well received with music critics and helped to launch some national exposure for Franklin's music, landing two song placements on an MTV show, as well as national college radio airplay. Franklin then met artist/producer, Jim Reilley, founding member of The New Dylans and a staff writer at Curb Music Publishing. Reilley had seen Jenn perform live and approached her about making a full-length album together, calling in the talents of top-notch musicians like Ken Coomer (formerly of Wilco), Charlie Chadwick (Shelby Lynne, Steve Earl), and Bryn Davies (Patty Griffin). The upcoming album titled, "Girl Invisible," shows Franklin to be a kindred songstress to artists like Aimee Mann, Paula Cole, and Sara Bareilles, but with a voice undeniably all her own. Recently, Franklin has been most excited about how her music is being used to make a difference in the lives of others. Her song, "Hold Up the World," was selected to be part of a special charity project entitled, "Nashville for Haiti," and Franklin's own musical/speaking presentation, "Hungry For Hope," is allowing her to share her story of recovering from an eating disorder with schools and recovery organizations.
