The 23 year-old spent most of his early life in the church singing in the choir. Focused on mainly gospel music, Jewelz P. never really paid attention to the urban radio. One day while listening to some gospel music, he accidentally came across Hot 97 with Coolio’s “Gangstas’ Paradise” playing and was hooked from that moment on. After that, his cd collection began to change adding B.I.G., Puff Daddy, Naughty by Nature, 2pac etc. and knew that Hip Hop and R&B was his new love. At the age of 14, Jewelz P. moved to Las Vegas and began taking his music seriously. Attending Kenny Guinn Middle School he joined the school choir. Mr. Weigand his choir director quickly recognized the singing potential Jewelz had. Claiming also every solo he could get his hands on, Jewelz knew a singer is what he was destined to be. Singing anything from The Temptations to Ginuwine, Jewelz stayed focused on R&B, until being reunited with his older brothers who both rap. He began learning how to freestyle and using metaphors. Slowly fading away from singing, Jewelz started rapping. After a horrible altercation that involved people he called “friends”, he chose the named then Julius Ceezuh. After high school, he was reunited with an old friend from middle school named Rodney A.K.A. Protégé. They realized the chemistry and began knocking out mixtape after mixtape, but everything came to a huge halt. At the age of 18, Jewelz was involved in a near fatal car accident. Realizing how close he was to death, he knew that whatever he was doing in life had to be done right. Soon after that, at the age of 20 he hopped on a plane to Spokane, WA. Stumbling upon a local record label, Realside Records he began collabing with many artist and ghostwriting as well. He then chose the name Jewelz P. Jewelz because he shined at almost anything he put his mind to and the P. is for Priceless for how his style was often described. But after a minor dispute with his producer, Jewelz looked to the old saying ……….. “If You Want Anything Done Right You Have To Do It Yourself. With the money he had, Jewelz purchased a computer and production software Fruity Loops. After producing tracks for fellow artists he was ready to produce his first album, The Jewel Thief. The album was full of nothing but club tracks and straight bangers and was placed in a kiosk in the mall called the Insyders Booth. Quickly selling out of all copies Jewelz felt he was finally ready for the industry. “2008 is my year” he states laughing but there could be a lot of truth. Only time will tell
