Musician Information: J-Frost NAME: JEFFREY LOISEAU STAGE NAME:J-FROST ALIAS:J-FROST SO COOOL,J-FROST SO SO COOL Home Town: North Miami, Florida J-Frost So coool was born on September 22nd 1985, in Nassau, Bahamas. He came to Miami at the tender age of seven, but he only started listening to rap music at the age of 9. He wasn't really drawn into it until he heard a rap group called Bone Thugs-N-Harmony. They quickly became his favorite group and inspiration. so amazed was he by their talent, that he made up his mind that he wanted to be a rapper. So he started to imitate their rapid fire fast rapping style with similar mix with harmony. He adopted his first rap moniker, Tha Eternal Smokie aka Smokie Bone. When he started writing lyrics in his Lyric book, he would write the lyrics without beats with intent to feature artists like Bone Thugs, 2Pac, Biggie, Eazy-E and Big Pun. He wrote their lyrics the way he thought they would come on to the song. When his skill elevated, he would go to record shops and purchase rappers singles and write his own lyrics to their instrumentals and re-recorded it using a cassette tape player. To showcase his skills, he would join the talent show at North Miami Senior High every year with his friends Skelo, Bone Boi, and Killa Skillo; not rapping original songs, but songs from their favorite group Bone Thugs-N-Harmony. They did this dutifully for four years in a row. He also recorded an album with his longtime friend Disco-G. In 2000, Him and his boys, X-$ample Slim, $ho, Blaize, Skelo tried to get signed with a label called Bonafide Records. They started helping the label promote one of their artists Jovishes, who now goes by the name Dirt Bag. Things didnt work out, so they broke up and went their separate ways.He also recorded an album with his life long friend and rapping partner Disco-G.The album was a sucessful LP. It was considered a classic but was only available in cassette tapes. He then got with his boys, Robb Hood and Blackmail to form the group B-Ground. They recorded a couple songs but ended up separating because of personal and business issues. Frost and Blackmail remained working together and formed the group Star Rated and added a rapper named Rex and a female rapper/singer to the group. They recorded two mixed tapes and a street album and started performing at the Larry Dog show with artists like Chaos of the super-group Grind Mode and Hustleholiks. At that time he was going by his new personna Lil Quickie. The street album got into the hands of G-Unit Records but the group was going through legal problems with their manager so the deal didnt go through. One of the mixtape they recorded was summited to 5 major lables, and 3 months later TVT Records came calling but only wanted to sign Frost for one of the songs he had on the mixtape entitled "ALOT OF HEAD".The song soon became a classic through the internet in such sites as Myspace. The lable wanted to give him a single deal to distributed tha song as a ringtone. so because the lable only wanted to sign Frost there became conflict in the group. Frost passed up on the offer and a couple years later TVT Records went bankrupt. He then signed with a independent label called South Side records and got to open up for Lil Flip. Disenchanted by lack of progress, he parted ways with the label and went solo for three years. He did a little stint at another independent lable called X-Klusive Records but only recorded a mixtape for them that never got released. He then got back with his child hood friends X-$ample slim,$ho & blaize. the trio was singed to a lable called LCN Records. He never signed an exclusive solo deal with the lable but he did get a small role in one of their movies. In late 2006, frost and Star Rated got back together to give it another shot. That same year they met a investor who wanted to invest in them to help them get their music out and to start up the lable StarRated Records, which blackmail is the CEO of. He promised them $500,000 upfront and $500,000 later in installments. He also promised to get them shows all around the world,a show with Jay-Z, a tour with Missy Elliot and a endorsement deal with LL Cool J's new clothing line. The so called investor never kept his word so frost was out of the picture onces again while Blackmail remain working with him.In early 2008 he began working with a bunch of other people to try to get his music out.He even tried to get on with Plies after he was cast in Plies music video "100 Years". He quickly give up on that persuit and just started doing everything on his own. His whole style changed and with it also his name. He now goes by the monicker J-Frost So Coool and started his own label called Freeze Em Up Music. In 2009, He signed a deal with Nile Valley Entertainment and is currently working on mixtapes and his first solo album "The Cold Front".
