Jimmy Wayne Martin was born in Virginia and raised in Jacksonville, Florida, a city with a rich southern blues rock tradition and the birthplace of such legendary bands as The Allman Brothers Band, Lynyrd Skynyrd, .38 Special and Molly Hatchet. The guitarist, producer, songwriter, and session player has been playing music professionally for thirty-five years. His experience includes performing thousands of nightclub gigs throughout the south and over a hundred recording sessions with many artists as well. Included is a historic session with The Allen Collins Project. This "project" consisted of Allen Collins, vocalist/bassist Rik Yarbrough, drummer Terry Florence, and Jim. In addition to sharing guitar duties with Allen, he also co-wrote several of the songs, and co-produced the album. This was during the time between the tragic plane crash and the formation of The Rossington Collins Band. Unfortunately, this project was cut short and the album unreleased because of contractual legalities. Jim has also performed in many concert settings on the same billing with The Charlie Daniels Band, Merle Haggard, B.J. Thomas, The Marshall Tucker Band, Lynyrd Skynyrd, George Strait, Kathy Mattea, The Edgar Winter Band, Grinderswitch, and Molly Hatchet. He has produced or co-produced several albums including the critically acclaimed Kendall Stash album "Just Around The Corner" and the self-titled "Dylan Brown Band" album. Jim also played guitar and wrote or co-wrote most of the songs on these albums. Jim is currntly gigging and writing new material for an independantly produced CD.
