JJ Henson Band

We are a rockin' country band from San Antonio Texas. The path we are traveling was forged by the forefathers of Texas Country: Willie, Billy Joe Shaver, Jerry Jeff and many others. The torch was passed later on to guys like Pat Green, Cory Morrow, and Robert Earl Keen Jr. Now, here we are, a new generation of artists taking the genre farther than it was just yesterday. The JJ Henson Band was formed when JJ Henson (Vocals/Guitar) and Scott McKee (Drums) were introduced by a mutual friend of theirs and the two hit it off immediatly. Joined later by Glen Mead (Lead Guitar) and Shawn Irey (Bass) the band soon bloomed into a powerful reminder of what it was like when the "Old Guard" did songs their own way and broke away from the industry standard. Song writing sessions on dropped tailgates led to the emergance of songs like 'On A Night Like This', 'That Kinda Guy', 'Get It Right' and 'You're Still Here'. Between rockin' energy tracks and powerful ballads, The JJ Henson Band will have you holding on to your sweetie tight one minute and cuttin' up a rug the next.
