JOEY CANYON Joey Canyon has been singing since he was 8 years old, he first started to perform on stage at talent night at the world famous “Palomino Club” in North Hollywood, Ca. shortly thereafter he was asked to sing backup at a recording studio on an album that legendary Cliffie Stone was producing, he was hooked. Joey has spent over 30 years in the entertainment industry as a singer/songwriter, recording artist, performer, co-producer, co-director, and actor. His early performances included his band “Both Barrels”, as well as duets, and solo acts, and found him in some of the most noted recording studios, with some of the finest session musicians in the country from Los Angeles, the Rocky Mountain region, and Nashville, TN. Joey has collaborated with old hometown friend and award winning bass player Curtis Stone from "Highway 101". Curtis has produced more than 45 sides with Joey in major studios from Los Angeles to Nashville, they are currently preparing for 2 new CD's for 2009. From 1993-1995, Joey was a featured artist on 3 NFL country music compilation videos that included George Strait, Lorrie Morgan, Travis Tritt, Reba MacIntire, Clint Black, Randy Travis,and others. Governor Richard Lamm awarded Joey a Governors citation for writing the anti-pollution song "Save Our Colorado". He has also performed the national anthem at Mile Stadium and twice at Coors field accapella. Joey also worked for Sam Allen Productions where he did everything from assistant director, lighting, sound, assistant cameraman, production coordinator, and location coordinator. He then began his own production services company called Independent Production Services, servicing the film, television, and sports industry as Assistant Director, assistant Cameraman, lighting, sound (Nagra), and Production coordinator, and working for such popular television series as Father Dowling mysteries, Americas Most Wanted, 8 years with NFL films, national commercials, documentaries, PBS, among others. Joey was grateful that Take My Money became the Most Added Country Music Video nationally from January to March in 1994. Joey plans on doing 2 new CD's in 2011 of more original songs.
