John Ericsson was born and raised in the suburbs with little exposure in his early years to music outside his mother's piano lessons. As he grew older, he picked up the violin and began to listen to The Beach Boys and other classic rock with his father. This was all he knew until he heard Weezer's "Say It Ain't So" in music class when he was 12. This was a pivotal moment in John's life, and from then on, he was all about rock and roll. He started playing guitar at age 13 and formed a band, No Safety, with his friends when he was 16. No Safety was a great outlet for John's creativity and he loved to write, rehearse and perform more than anything. During a hiatus in his junior year of high school, John began to write and record his own music, and his solo career was born. No Safety went on to win Battle of the Bands 2010, but disbanded shortly after as its members went off to separate colleges. John continues to write and record while studying Music Education and is currently working on his first full-length studio album, "Move".
