JR Harkness

JR Harkness is a new artist diving head-first into the indie/folk music scene. Originally from Seattle, he now resides in So. Illinois, where he calls Marion his home. Seeding from multi-genre music roots, his sound is sure to please even the most unique tastes. "His music paints a picture of his life, like a story book." says former EarnYourStripes! front-man Jon Gunzel, "I like hearing his stories."
JR just finished in the studio recording his first locally anticipated album, and has started booking all types of musical events for the summer. "I love benefit shows, they are my favorite," says JR, "It's really nice to see people come together to help there fellow humans. Sometimes they know the person, sometimes they don't. Either way, with all the negative stuff happening today, it makes it worth it to see all the good at these shows." His first album, "Write At Home EP", will be available in late May 2011 on Itunes, and other websites.
