Washington, D.C. Hip Hop/R&B Duo Keen Starz formed in late 2009. The group is comprised of Rapper LaPret and R&B Singer DaMar J.
In late 2009 American Rapper and Songwriter LaPret officially formed the Washington, D.C. Hip Hop/R&B Duo Keen Starz. The group's name carries a significant meaning referring to each individual member, "Keen", meaning 'eager' or 'devoted' - ready to blossom.
After the disbandment of a previous group called Profound Intent (2005-2009), LaPret and R& Singer DaMar J later recorded the single "Play My Mind" in Fall 2009 but its release was placed on hold due to distribution issues.
While writing for a track ("So Amazing") the duo jokingly discussed working together in a group and enjoyed their productive bonding. Several days later LaPret introduced the concept of a group, first to DaMar J and later to others, although all offers were accepted the final group only featured LaPret and DaMar J as the original Keen Starz.
The duo's Debut Album "Dangerously Infatuated" released July 2010 as a Digital Album. LaPret wrote all lyrics while DaMar J produced all beats under direction of LaPret. www.keenstarz.com
