The internet definitely changes the game of music just due to the simple fact that you can work with other artist from around the world in minutes. You can create a song and give it to the world in 5 minutes after it was created. Would you sign a record contract with a major label? I would still sign with a major, but only if the deal is right, I wont jump on just the first thing that comes along. It has to make sense for me to do that. Band History: Justin Mills, the emcee, actor, writer, performer, and entertainer comes from the streets of Connecticut. New Haven born, and Danbury raised. Serving as an outlet and a safe way to stay out of trouble, Mills found that writing and performing his raps could one day, place him in a wonderful situation and out of the poverty stricken life he was accustomed to. Formulating his first rap lyrics in the fourth grade for a girl he admired, he never lost hope and continued to strive for perfection in his newly found craft. Justin Mills is hitting the east coast streets with one of his most important projects to date. “Black Storm Records Presents: Justin Mills Vol. 1, “The Jealousy Mixtape”. The mixtape captures his versatility, wordplay, storytelling, humor, and raw emotional exploits. The mixtape is a compilation of industry and original production. Distributing over a thousand cds, it has also become a very successful promotional tool for the rising artist to extend his musical talent to A&Rs, managers, talent agents, and others in a position to advance his career. None the less, it has definitely allowed him to become familiar to new and prospective fans. He has been performing live since 1996, and even earlier if you count his church plays and musicals. Justin Mills has traveled all over the east coast and has even ventured out to Boise, ID for a NACA {National Association for Campus Activities} convention. This artist does not just portray his talent in music, he has appeared in the independent film, entitled “Tri-State”, adding his music to the film, as well as creating the title track. Adding to his film credentials, you can soon hear Justin Mills on a film called “April Fools”. Justin Mills’ overall goal is to become a major independent, become a household name, and it doesn’t stop there. He is currently in the studio recording and working on the release of his second Mixtape, along side U.K's Producer King P. Justin Mills was also featured on King P's U,K. Release "Royal Dubz" that you can find on itunes and any other digital distribution site. Just blessed the album with two songs that King P produced called, "Here We Go Again" and "best Of You" featuring Kitt, from the dope chemistry these two have together on record, they decided to release a mixtape together. This is in the early stages now. Your influences? My music influences range from all types of music, there isnt one genre that I can list because I love music in every form. and I hope with my music as time goes on I will be able to reflect that fact through my music.
