Katastrophy was born in Long Island City, N.Y in the 40th projects where he would stuggle as a child in poverty. Early in his life he had a deep love for art, graffiti, and the HIP-HOP movement. Katastrophy was born in Long Island City, N.Y in the 40th projects where he would stuggle as a child in poverty. Early in his life he had a deep love for art, graffiti, and the HIP-HOP movement. He would later move to P.A where he experienced poverty for the second time moving 20+ more times within the capitol. He started to write poetry and spoken word to cope with such an unstable life. Later during his high school days he began to rap/produce and develop a lyrical-traditional style of his own to oppose the direction the HIP-HOP culture was going in. He first called himself Katastrophy to describe in one word his life. But as he matured he realized that the concept of hip hop is that its an intellegent movement. Dwelling on the past can never help the future its all about moving on therefor he is also known as the koncept.
