Kelly Moore “Silently hoping for peace in our hearts, Longing for freedom too… See the little children hunger in their eyes, There could be peace for them too.” For over three decades, Kelly Moore has been involved with music, evolving into an accomplished composer, singer and guitarist, performing an eclectic mix of Folk/Pop/Rock music. His powerful, yet humbling songwriting has turned many heads and captivated audiences through his impeccable live performances. However, his accomplishments pale in comparison to the sharing person he has always been, and how he is able to use his songwriting talents to reach those in need. He is more than a musician; he is a messenger of good will. His new album titled “Silently Hoping” conveys his message. After having been practically raised in theatre, Kelly started his music career in his teens as a drummer, and then performed with several bands up and down the East Coast and Midwest on pedal steel guitar, mandolin, Dobro, guitars, piano and accordion. When Kelly moved to Nashville, he toured and performed with several country artists, then studied at Belmont University in Nashville where he honed his craft as a guitarist. His talents led him to work as a studio session musician in Nashville and Atlanta, and as a performing musician sharing the stage with the likes of Minnie Pearl, Roy Acuff, Pete Seegar and Elisabeth Von Trapp. Kelly also worked as personal assistant and second engineer to Nick Jameson of Foghat fame, where he learned the art of a well-trained ear. Kelly then started out on his own shortly after as a solo artist. In 1998, his first solo album titled “Awaken” was critically acclaimed which led to his second release “Celebrate!” in 2002. “Celebrate!” was an album celebrating his Celtic heritage through music, and reached the radio charts, going as high as Number One at WFIT-FM in New York City, and charting top five in several radio stations across the United States, also airing in various stations in Canada and Europe. Over the years, Kelly has always wanted to share his talents with others not just as an entertainer and performer, but also as a human being, using his talents to help those in need. This thought came to fruition as he later founded his charitable organization Music For Mankind®, a series of benefit concerts with proceeds being contributed to the Friends of the World Food Program and other humanitarian organizations, the contributions from these concerts feeding over 30,000 people in two short years. For his efforts Kelly has been awarded the title of Community Delegate to the Friends of the World Food Program. The organization he founded, along with the accomplishments, places and people he has experienced, led to the creation and recording of his new album “Silently Hoping.” His writing influenced by such notable artists as Crosby, Stills and Nash, and Shawn Colvin, “Silently Hoping” started out as a third album release. However, through the inspiration of his charitable work, the album evolved into much more. Having visited children in Nicaragua on a mission for the Friends of The World Food Program, seeing the look on their faces and inspired by the joy he received in helping them, Kelly wrote the title track, “Silently Hoping” as well as another on the CD, “Hope”, and has dedicated the album to them. The message of “Silently Hoping” is best described by Kelly himself. “We all have peace in our hearts. We need to find the thirst to discover it”.
