Biography

Ken Smith started playing guitar at the age of 8, and started writing songs at the age of 13. He formed the Arkansas based rock band Society's Child in 1994 as a bass player, back up vocalist, and songwriter for the band, performing throughout Arkansas. Ken Smith started playing guitar at the age of 8, and started writing songs at the age of 13. He formed the Arkansas based rock band Society's Child in 1994 as a bass player, back up vocalist, and songwriter for the band, performing throughout Arkansas. They had the song "Father" written by Ken Smith, released on Cry Rock in 1995 and where ask to perform at the cross road convention in Memphis. In 1998 Ken went solo performing his own brand of acoustic rock/pop across the southern US., and has opened & performed on the same bill as bands like Black Oak Arkansas, Bad Finger, Big Bother & the Holding Co.,Devon Allman, Tony Spinner, and many many more. Ken Smith released his first full length solo CD titled "Still Alive" in 2004. "Still Alive". Ken performs vocals, guitar, and lead guitar (bringing in Ken's wife Bree Smith on back up vocals for the song "With out you"). Ken also released a single from the album, the song "Memphis" Memphis became a featured song on a Baxter Collins Compilation CD in 2005 & received Radio air play on 93.1 the Max & Sky 99.5 out of AR. "Memphis" was also one of the top voted songs on the Probe online radio show. With the release of a second Independent CD "The Black Sheep Diaries" in 2005. Much like Kens twist of the basement tapes. The album is full of eclectic, thought provoking lyrics wrapped in fun innovative music, featuring Ken behind the songwriting, vocals, guitars,bass,Keyborads, & some percussion's as well as Producer/Engineer of the new Album "The Black Sheep Diaries. Ken Released 2 singles from this album 'Better Part of me" witch was filmed with Ken performing live twice in concert and featured on a KTWN Ch.18 showcase aired through out AR and the surrounding area in Oct. & Nov. of 2006. Also the songs "My Everything" & "Little result' witch Ken was ask to perform live on Clear Channels Magic 105's morning show in 2007. In Feb of 2007 Ken along with His wife writer, singer songwriter Bri Smith & Gypsy Lee-Lee of Gypsy Road Entertainment created and organized the 'Heart & Soul Benefit Concert for Missing Children. the Concert took place at the famed Underground coffee house featuring performances by "Charmain" current lead singer for the group "Always April", Ken Smith, & Dark Embrace, the event went on to raise several hundred dollars for both "The National Center for missing and Exploited Children" & " The Morgan Nick foundation" as well as raising sate wide awareness through the filming of the event my Meadowland media, the event was aired around a dozen times on Sudden link Ch6 through out central and north east AR. In early 2006 Ken was offered a single song publishing deal, form a Nashville based music publisher, & over the years has been courted by servile A list producers & Artist Development agents. Now with the release of a new album from Ken Smith "In the Eye of the Beholder" We will all have to keep a sharp eye out for what's on the horizon for Ken Smith.
