This Is K’Jon Music is the universal language and Detroit native K'Jon speaks it well. A masterful, singer, songwriter and producer, K'Jon has broad appeal to audiences in all demographics. His music is soulful enough for R&B lovers, but smooth enough for adult contemporary. Sophisticated enough for the grown and sexy, but edgy enough for younger listeners. Sensitive enough to appeal to the ladies, but with a confident swagger that nabs the fellas. K'Jon writes and sings about relationships and everyday topics. From "making up to breaking up..., to hooking up", listeners are amazed at how his catchy hooks and phrases command their attention and demand a permanent place on their favorite play list. He began singing and writing at the age of eight. Ever since he can remember, K'Jon was always entertaining family or singing at talent shows and musical functions. After writing and cutting demos for other established artist through Rough Night Productions, K'Jon released, co-produced and performed "My Shorty". The single was well received in Detroit and received "in the mix" spins at two radio stations in Detroit (FM 98 and 105.9 FM) K'Jon however, craved for growth and national exposure. He would soon hook up with Ebony Son Mgmt/Entertainment which represents rap guru Ludacris and his Disturbing The Peace label (Def Jam). K'Jon spent time in New York and Atlanta working with other aspiring artists, writing and producing for them. He would soon land on the 2Fast 2Furious Soundtrack/Movie (2003) with the song entitled "Miami" which is also featured in the movie. "Miami" received great reviews from music critics and consistently made the print from various news/internet sources as K'Jon held his own with the likes of R. Kelly and Tyrese also on the album. After writing and interning as A&R for Ebony Son/DTP (2003-2005), K'Jon decided to go to the streets with his creativity. The club banger "Yes Sir" caught the attention of several Detroit DJs and received moderate spins on FM 98 and 105.9 FM (now HOT 102.7 FM). It will forever be the summer banger track for Detroit. The "Yes Sir" Street R&B mixtape (12 songs) featuring original lyrics, still has the streets buzzing in the Detroit, Windsor, Atlanta and New York areas and more recently; an international fan base of DJs and R&B lovers who have reach out for his first independent single in the Detroit area (2001). As a result of the European interest, CDs of the "Yes Sir" Street R&B Mixtape were shipped over seas in July 2006 as K'Jon continues to gain support from DJs all over the world. From Japan to war stricken Iraq, positive feedback and interest have been documented and publicized as indicated on his artist Myspace page: myspace.com/whoiskjon. In the spring of '06, K'Jon partnered up with Chopper City Records in a non-exclusive situation to give Detroiters and R&B lovers world wide a preview of good things to come; via the internet. The highly anticipated album entitled "This Is Me" dropped August 29, 2006 as part of a Detroit independent release featuring the soulful flare that Detroit has been missing and was once famous for. K'Jon has worked with an impressive list of industry talents and business people including: Ludacris, Chakka Zulu, Jeff Dixon, Grand Puba, Shawnna, Titty Boi & Dolla of Playaz Circle, Lil' Fate, I-20, Chingy, Track Starz, Ebony Son Ent., DTP, Cool & Dre, Buck Wild, Chucky Thompson, Stevie J, J Dubb, Rich Nice, Keith McMasters, Baby Paul, B.G., Chopper City Records, Miz Korona, BET’s Comic View CoCo, Stretch Money, DJ Mase, Kori Blake, Trick Trick, Tone Tone, Justice League and DTP's first female R&B diva..., Shareefa. K'Jon co-wrote three of the songs featured on Shareefa's debut album "Point of No Return": "Butterfly", "Trippin" and "Assumptions". - (October 24, 2006).  And to add to his accomplishments, K’Jon has opened for industry established artist such as Ludacris, Ginuwine, Avant, Ne-Yo, T-Pain and more recently, Raheem Devaughn (Dec. 15, 2007).K'Jon has a style that can be characterized as Soul/Hip-Hip/R&B. His songs take you from the club, to the after party..., to the private party as he boast 250 plus completed songs in his catalog (not to mention his collaborated efforts with various artists). And if that’s not enough K'Jon is back for his sophomore album entitled "The Ballroom Xplosion" (October 16, 2007).  Riding the success of Detroit's #1 ballroom club song, "On The Ocean", this selection of tunes will keep the dance floor packed and emotions peeking. With songs like "2Nite", "Baby Baby", “Dancing Shoes”, "Boogie Woogie","Street Life" and "Feels Like Love" , this album takes K'Jon into a whole new arena of music lovers.  Last album he brought you something for the "Young & Classy" and "The Grown & Sexy".  This time he's bringing something for the "Ballroomers" & "The Steppers".
