Klassic a humble and hard working Hip Hop Artist with a laidback demeanor, and a strong passion for music, credits his Love for music to the likes of KRS-One, Tupac, TooShort, and Ice Cube for their ability to story tale, and word play which klassic has developed over the years. Being a fan of music for many years klassic is ready to make his mark in the game, and someday wants to be known for his unique & diverse style of music.
Born Kavaughn Christian in the windy city of San Francisco, CA but raised in the heart of East Oakland, CA which is the inner city of the Bay Area where he was exposed to poverty, the fast life of drug dealers, and killing on the Oakland streets. Klassic had to figure out life the hard way of growing up without a father figure to show him the trials and tribulations of becoming a man and seeing his Mother Lisa Lewis struggle to work three jobs to take care of him and his three sisters. Among the odds of a single parent house hold for a young boy growing up around women was hard for klassic but he embrace that early age challenge of becoming that man of the house.
Klassic had an early ear for the tune in music; he would listen to just about any genre of music, and loved to dance at any family function, are anywhere for that matter. Like most young boys video games, collecting toy cars and bikes were his hobbies. In elementary school klassic got deeply involved in sports playing football and baseball, but found his nitch at the game of Basketball. Klassic Often found himself juggling between a basketball career, and a rap career but deep in his heart he wanted nothing more but to become an entertainer. Klassic taught himself how to rap at age 8 by writing down rappers word line for line and would recite them to himself until he developed his on style of writing music.
In High School Klassic move to Sacrameto, CA with his Uncle Chris Lewis were he was recruted to Sheldon High School to play Basketball, Klassic also wanted to received some guidence from a male, and that was also his opportunity step away from the Oakland Streets that was causing him to lose focus on his High school diploma, and his skills on the basketball court. Klassic credits his Uncle Chris for straying him back to that positive life, and Thanks him for making the contribution on the man Klassic is today.
Klassic put his rap career on the back burner for awhile to reinvent himself as a stronger liricist, and writer and has taking a full flaged role in making his comeback by putting time and long hours of dedication to his debut album title “Front Row Live” which showcase nothing less then his “Heart Beats Hip Hop”.
