The name, "KYNG" denotes royalty and wisdom! His style screams, "You will never forget me!" His musical expression invokes a divine state of mental transcendence like nothing you have ever felt or heard before!
When his Mother was giving birth to her baby boy in Chicago's Roseland Community Hospital, bible in hand, she had no ideas she was bringing a musical phenomenon into the world! But when a nurse asked for the baby's name, it was spoken that the man-child's name would be Solomon (Kyng Solomon Lazerus Warren to be exact)
As the third of nine siblings it was evident while young Solomon was still in diapers that he was different from his other siblings. It didn't take much to realize that a 2-year-old tapping out beats on whatever he got his hands on was the mark of a child with something special – he would later realize it was an innate love of the vibrations he came to know as music.
As a pre-teen and into his early teens, KYNG found himself seeking something he couldn't quite understand and having parents that embraced several spiritual ideologies rather than one set religion helped push eccentric young man with a growing love for sound and an insatiable thirst for manipulating it. Thus, he began to explore that thirst within and picked up plenty of talents along the way.
Feeding off the era of the rise of hip-hop, and sporting his dope boy Nikes with the swoosh held tight with the fresh fat laces, a high-top fade, black Bart Simpson T-shirt while listening to MC Breed's "No Future in Your Frontin," KYNG was quickly turned to the eccentric side.
During this transition producing, rapping and performing emerged as bi-products of his already burgeoning writing and singing talents but it was fueled by his pursuit of his own sound. It was then that he realized that he had to "be the creator of that which I did not hear." Also, being attracted to the feelings music invoked in people, KYNG's creative juices were kicked into overdrive and combined with his equally eccentric spirituality, KYNG Solomon was reborn.
KYNG lifelong body of work is comprised of more than 1,000 songs that he has written and 100 that he produced, arranged, performed and recorded that are currently circulating around the US and in Europe. Described by a close friend as being able to "almost channel the spirit of artists that have gone on before him," such as Marvin Gaye and Jimmy Hendrix, KYNG has carved a niche in entertainment previously left void by the Parliament Funkadelic's era. KYNG brings the creativity, mysticism and depth of consciousness seldom heard or felt in music of today according to his philosophy as an artist. He said the real reason he pursues music is that it's "the only job or profession that I can do every day and still sleep at night."
Since coming to Atlanta in --- KYNG has been on the grind of his life and is quickly developing a reputation for his dynamic and colorful performances! KYNG latest project had been his performance in a new Indy Film called Loves Triangle which is due out in spring of 2009 and working on the score for the movie. You might have seen him recently at Apache Café, Gallery Bistro or Café 290 to name a few, but if you haven't keep looking because you will soon hear or see that which is truly unforgettable in the wise, the talented, the KYNG-7154.
