Consider by some as the “Proper” gangster, Lady Kyng brings to Hip-Hop a side of heartfelt insanity that the sane can't help but blissfully bang their heads. Kyng, born De'Anna X. Sampson (currently going through the process of a name change), was born in Atlanta, Ga but made frequent visits Quincy, Fla to see her family. Kyng's passion for poetry can be traced back to Argyle Elementary, where she met her future best friend, Porcsha Huff a.k.a Pezz. Both had a curious for Rap and started to experiment, downloading instrumentals and writing lyrics for them, and ever since then Lady Kyng continued to turn her poetry in to music, using music as a personal diary, “Music is like my psychiatrist. I can say what I want, I can express what I want, I can yell at, and cuss at it. I can let go and be myself in my own words.” Lady Kyng is constantly inspired by the poetical unknown and underground poets and artists such as 3 Mr. NeverSlow, her cousin, who's word play is full of creativity, “The music he makes is a real life experience, real things that go on in his everyday life,” and Unica Jones, a dear friend to Kyng, “The hottest female out there as a underground rapper. She's extraordinarily lyrical! She also a singer and just overall a very talented individual. She inspires me to step my game up, that's how hard she is!” Actually artist on the mainstream circuit that Kyng is influence by are T.I., Drake, Nikki Minaj, Yo Gotti, and Lil Wayne. Kyng's upcoming mixtape, The Hunger, shows her ambition and she lives day to day, doing the daily grinding, keeping up hustle that is second nature to survive our ever maddening society, and starving for more than the hype, above the stereotypical. Within this industry, Lady Kyng's appetites are more than the glitz and the glamor. She just want to be recognized and be heard. She want everybody to see things in her perspective, “I want people to put themselves in my shoes, even if the size don't fit!”
