About Lau Miranda

Pomona, CA

Lau Miranda [lead singer of ViaSette]

Lau Miranda was born Laura Padilla on April 3rd 1991 in Long Beach, California. Since she was very young, she liked to receive the applause of a public. So at the age of 2, she began to ice skate. In her first competition, at the age of 3, she obtained the second place. From then, she won first places. At the age of 10, she has to retire of the sport.
Because of this, she began to participate in talent shows at school. It was a surprise to everyone when she decided to SING! Always participating in the choir of her school, she kept growing and she soon decided that she wanted to be heard by everyone ! Beginning this adventure on the 26 of February of the 2005, when she participated in her first singing contest. From there, many more opportunities came up. Some of them being: opening a concert for the BLACK EYED PEAS, to sing in events in where the spectators were celebrities like TYRA BANKS, LL COOL J, etc. Also, she was given the opportunity to sing in the magnum event hosted by KISS FM, a radio station in Los Angeles, California, WANGO TANGO in which she performed Killing Me Softly (reggaeton version), and she was able to perform doing background vocals for the legendary ISLEY BROTHERS.
All these opportunities were only the beginning! On July 20, 2006 she auditioned for a new show produced by GIORGIO AREZU and hosted by ALAN TACHER. She was the first one selected in California to participate in "QUINCEAÑERA". It was transmitted by TELEMUNDO in the United States. Laura's life changed at that moment. She had to leave her normal life behind. She was going to have to leave her dad, her grandparents, and her entire family! Luckily, instead of making her sad, knowing she had her family and friends behind her only gave her the strength to keep going! That is how Laura got on the list of being 1 of the 10 Quinceañeras. She got on that plane and she to this day has not been able to leave that wonderful experience behind her. During the show, she was the one that had the most advancement during the 12 weeks that it aired. All because she was able to take advantage of her teachers and she knew how to take the critics' advice. Her most recent performance was at LA Live, the Nokia Plaza in December during the Winter concert series.
