Press-Release: “Will you hate the rest of the world or will you renew your life?” asks singer-songwriter-producer LiLi Roquelin on the cover of her brand new album. This question is just as tender as it is thought-provoking and it can reflect how her music blends delicateness with a touch of darkness. These catchy songs are graced by her crystalline vocals which give a strong, focused presence that haunt her piano-based progressive electronic sound. As we are invited in by the addictive melodies and piano rhythms from the first track “Come and hear my story”, it is quite difficult to resist to the charm of this endearing French import from a small town on the Riviera who came to the US to pursue her music career. Other pieces in this thoughtful collection reveal her gift for conveying emotional truth and artful songs, like the down-tempo stringsorchestrated “Give you my love” and a French cover of Danny Elfman’s “Sally’s Song” (Tim Burton/ Nightmare before Christmas). This full-length album is the follow-up to the critically acclaimed fan-funded EP, released just over a year ago and recipient of two best music video awards. With her musical talent and dazzling presence, Ms Roquelin definitely knows how to strike the iron while it’s hot and launches her new record with a breathtaking new music video for “Should you get mad”. A must hear… and see. Story: “I will go to the United States and have a music career there”, LiLi told her friends as she was just 14. Growing up on la Côte d’azur with a multi-instrumentalist father, she learned music as it was all around her. She has been doing music actively since Middle School: from recording lead and backup vocals in solo or in duet for side projects or albums, to programming, and performing live with numerous bands. Her skills in PR and marketing support her constant presence in the music industry, getting press, TV, radio interviews and airplay of her songs in the US, Europe and Japan. She released “A Taste of Departure” as the lead singer/writer of her first American pop-rock band, Phizzy Lager. She then quickly proved her professionalism in Cleveland – home of rock’n’roll – during the recording of the alternative-rock album “Neverending Sundown” with band Hate Dies Hard at Bill Korecky’s Mars Studio (Universal Records, Victory, Century Media) who then recommended her to composer/producer Sean Bilovecky. She worked with him on a side project and the song “I Saw You” was born. Pushing herself to living music to the fullest, she moved to New York City and now writes her own projects in her studio, while performing live on the piano. Entirely funded by fans, her first solo EP was mixed and mastered by three-time Grammy Award winning engineer Marc Urselli and it includes her Multi-Award-Winning music video for “I Saw You”. She now releases a full-length “Will you hate the rest of the world or will you renew your life?”.
