When she performs, her music comes alive with vibrancy and energy... Lily is a powerful female vocalist who has a lot of singing and performing experience. Her voice spans more than 4 octaves and she writes all of her own music. The Southern Virginia Area-born daughter of a preacher Mother (now residing in Northern Virginia), she grew up singing in the church and was always impressed by her mother’s vocal ability. So, Lillie traveled with her mother when she sang and preached at different locations. After graduating from Greenville County Senior High School in Emporia, Virginia, Lily moved to Washington, D.C. where she worked as a clerk typist, secretary and executive assistant. While working, she wrote songs and actively pursued a music career at night. While in high school, Lily won Miss Black Teenage World and participated in countless talent shows and won most of them. She also received honorable mention accolades for her submission of a couple of songs in the Billboard Songwriting Competition. Lily and her sisters established a gospel group called “The Davis Sisters” and performed with “Little Cedric and The Haley Singers,” now known as Jodeci. While in Washington, D.C., Lily performed with numerous groups as the lead singer. She had the opportunity to open up for The Dells, Jean Carne, Dorothy Norwood, and also sang background for Yolanda Adams at the Black Family Reunion Festival in Washington, DC. She has performed at the Gullah Festival (Beaufort, S.C.), the Kunta Kinte Festival (Annapolis, MD), Heritage Festival (Beaufort, S.C.), Adams Morgan Day (Washington, D.C.), Amityville Day Festival (Amityville, N.Y.), The Festival @ Veterans Memorial Park (Middletown, CT) and other events in various cities throughout the country. Some of her influences are The Clark Sisters, Aretha Franklin, Whitney Houston, Gladys Knight, and Rachelle Ferrell. She is currently working on her solo project and can be booked for concerts, weddings, and other events.
