Litost is based out of Pearland, TX a suburban town outside of Houston, TX. Litost is based out of Pearland, TX a suburban town outside of Houston, TX. The band started out as a solo project for lead singer and guitarist Seth, but once asked to play the Vans Warped Tour in 2006 he found himself a full band. The band is currently a three piece consisting of Mike on drums, percussion and bass, Seth on guitar, vocals, bass and piano, and Zach on guitar, bass, backing vocals and piano. The band name which is a Czech word, is technically untranslatable into any other language, but roughly means "a sudden insight into one's own personal misery". Litost (pronounced lee-tosht) have been playing shows constantly for the last year and have also gone on a few tours. They played the Vans Warped Tour in 2006, which was their first show as a band. They will be on tour for most of the next two year. The band was formed from a distaste for the popular music culture. How the pure music forms become stale and become photo copies of everyone else. Litost took their classic rock influences and mixed them with other influences, including hardcore, punk, metal, and rock. They will be entering the studio with Jonah Matranga (of Far, onelinedrawing, New end Originals, Gratitude) to record their first full length release 'Empty Apartment Music' which will be available soon. They have also released two EP's, The Whereabouts of Happiness contains two studio recordings that will be on the full length and 4 demos while the Scarsofyou EP was a very rough around the edges acoustic release that Seth handed out when the band started. They combine smart, clever lyrics, with talent, energy and a desire to do something different and original. Their live shows are energetic, entertaining and anything can happen.
