Lisa Gatewood is a singer/songwriter crafting contemporary folk songs on Milwaukee's lower eastside. Born and raised there, she graduated with honors from the Milwaukee High School of the Arts. Gatewood later attended the University of Wisconsin- Milwaukee where she graduated Magnum Cum Laude with a BA in Theatre Studies. Lisa Gatewood is a singer/songwriter crafting contemporary folk songs on Milwaukee's lower eastside. Born and raised there, she graduated with honors from the Milwaukee High School of the Arts. Gatewood later attended the University of Wisconsin- Milwaukee where she graduated Magnum Cum Laude with a BA in Theatre Studies. Although Lisa recorded her first demo in 2000 with Victor DeLorenzo at Joe's Real Recording, she only began performing her original music live in 2005. Performances at local open-mics lead to gigs at Bremen Cafe, Linneman's Riverwest Inn and the late, great Mosaic Piano Bar. Now, three years later, Lisa is thrilled to have finally released her first album, "I've Read Salinger". The album was recorded at Sound Sound Studios in Milwaukee, WI with Engineer/Producer Tony Scholl. This collection of deeply personal songs features other Milwaukee musicians such as Heidi Spencer, Victor Delorenzo, Keith Pulvermacher, Dr. Martin Jack Rosenblum and producer Tony Scholl. Lisa continues to reside in Milwaukee, WI and performs regularly at local venues.
