My name is Lora Louise Nichols. I am a daughter, a sister, a mother, and a lover. All the rest of the details are spread throughout my music, as I see fit. I choose eclectic/electric country music as my scratching post and soothing stream of reality, but I am immersed just as deeply in my ventures of versatility. I have been singing harmony from the age of three, and reading and writing music from the age of seven. I once played my first composition, "Dreams Now Reality" for the one and only "Q", (Mr. Quincy Jones), at our shared alma mater, Garfield High School, at the age of fourteen. He seemed to like it very much, stating: "Sounds good!! You gotta do what your song says, and follow your dreams. If you ever want to do anything with your music, get a hold of me, and let me know!!" Mr. Jones was visiting Garfield for his 50th birthday celebration, at that time. Quincy is most well known for his work with the Jacksons, and being the first man of color in history to head the A&R department of a major record label...Mercury Records, where he remained for thirty years. My main goals are to submit my works for television and film. In October of 2008, I had received a Songwriting Contract and "Director's Award" from Paramount Group/Nashville for my original track, entitled: "You Had Me", which is being featured on their Summer, '09 release of "Catch a Rising Star", a compliation of Paramount Group's best songwriters of 2008. Previously, in 2006, my original track, entitled:"Walk On" had earned me a Single-Song Video Production Agreement from the folks at B.R. Entertainment in Fairfield, New Jersey. I have also been offered video production services by Mr. Adam Bush, of "Adam Bush Films", for the Green River Killer track, penned as: "Troublesome Creek~The Ballad of Gary Ridgway". I look forward to having the song earn a spot in a major motion picture, and feel confident in the contacts that have been made to make it happen!! I have completed the process of my second professional demo produced by Paramount Song, and have plans for a third. In 2008, I had received Paramount Song's Director's Award for the track entitled: "You Had Me". It was placed on their "Catch a Rising Star" CD, a compilation of their best songwriters of the year.
