What resulted was a band, Love Song at the Apocalypse, and a blistering debut EP entitled Martyrs with Megaphones.
In these four songs, they packed their anger and anxiety, fear and frustration, speaking out the best way they knew how, with drums, bass, guitars and voices. Here you won't find the polished, robotic production techniques that have become the standard of an increasingly sterile music industry. There is no auto-tune here; no pro-tools editing. These songs weren't meticulously drawn so much as blasted like graffiti on a city wall, full of raw energy and emotion. In the deceptively simple format of driving drums, rumbling bass, and two guitar tracks (one right, one left) the music provides a foundation for the visceral violence of lyrics that surround a central message: if the world really is ending (and we believe it is), we're going to make us much noise as possible before it all comes crashing down.
This debut EP, Martyrs with Megaphones is a powerful first statement that's sure to inspire the legions of fans who like their music raw, honest, and very, very loud.
