LP casso is a 30 year old producer, engineer and artist born January 20th 1981 in Queens General hospital located in Queens, NY. While music was his dream and passion, the streets were the down fall to many presented opportunities. So he figured it was time to take his music seriously or continue on a road of destruction.                    Rewind, before the streets and the drug game, LP was what most would call music fanatic. His father was a DJ who was murdered in Jamaica Queens in 1985 and his talent showed through LP. At 9 in 1990 LP had more vinyl than the average 9 year old had toys. His uncle Michael Murphy, from the group The System, well known for songs such as "Don't Disturb This Groove" and "Your In My System" gave LP his first set of turn tables and a mixer. It was 1993 in his bedroom, with Ice Cube Lethal Injection album blasting through a set of Sony monitor headphones he realized that he .can put words together just as well and make his mark. But at 12 years old he had no clue of where to start. While most kids his age was out playing sports or in the park, LP was on Jamaica avenue browsing through records in the WIZ or hitting up the bootleggers for the new Dj DoggTime, Dj Rob E Rob, Dj SnS and Ron G mix tapes. He kept his clothes folded neatly in a corner of his room while his dresser draws were filled with over 1200 tapes and CDs. Artist such as Nas, Ice Cube, L.O.T.N.S, Pete Rock and CL Smooth stayed in heavy rotation in his choice of daily music. Between the lyrics and the production, he wasn't sure which was more intriguing. Didn't know which he liked more and therefore chose to do both.              LPs main influences were at the time artist that no one had heard of and if people did hear of them, they paid them no mind. Jay-Z's reasonable doubt was one of his favorite albums next The LOX money power respect. LP was always ahead of his 11 year old times when it came to the music he listened to. Nas... Mobb Deep... Nature... Jeru Da Damaja... he had no set style on the music he liked. NWA got just as much play as Nice and Smooth. It wasn't just about the  sound to LP. It was the style, the production, the differences in the artists. So now, when it comes to describing LPs style, there is no description. One minute he may want you to feel what hes saying so you would get that smooth melodic heartfelt song. Then on the other hand when he feels your not listening, he may show you the street disrespectful side of him... However, you cant leave out the lyrical side. The word play. The punch lines. The Vocabulary. He has it all.             He obtained the name LP in the hood while running his studio. If you was from South Jamaica Queens, you either recorded with him or heard of him. He inspired several artist, producers or engineers from the hood to step their game up. So from having his hands in so many projects he became the go to guy in the hood to get your album done. So they began calling him LP. However, there were several people trying to run with the name shortly after so he didn't change the name, he just extended it. The name was then LP casso (El Picasso). The Picasso of music is how he seen himself. and he has lived up to it thus far. By 2002 he was known in the streets and by several in the industry for his talent and work. Not trying to live in the past he keeps his past work and contributions on a hush due to black ballers and legal matters. But nothing is forgotten.
