The Death Throes of a Moth was formed in 2005. Scott Young and Daniel Dupuis began working on music in High School in the year 2000, but actually hadn't formed the moniker until 2005.  Other projects had stood in the way, and forming a trio and a few quartets shrouded the music they had been writing the whole time.  By 2005 they had settled on a title, and began writing and performing, and The Death Throes of a Moth is what followed emerging from the fallen bands they had once help to build. By 2007 they had begun working on Hallucinations: in Black and White, an album that was comprised mostly of ethereal soundscapes fused with thrashing guitars and thundering drums. The album itself was a complete failure, having had been set aside in a dark room for many years and never truly got the chance to surface. "We spent a lot of time working on it," Daniel mentioned in an interview, "it's a shame that we never got the chance to release it." The album was hung out to dry sometime in 2008, the small recording studio held responsible for the mix/master of the work put it down and never picked it back up. Even still the people that actually got to hear the album were captivated, and begged for them to put music out on the internet to listen to. It's been 5 years since that point. Dupuis informed us that the music was indeed collected and has been sent off to be mixed and mastered "finally." And since then they hadn't worked on much music, both the core members were humiliated and angry about their only record being put on the back burner, but they never stopped working on album ideas. In 2012-13 they plan to return to the studio and release another album, a title yet to be named, comprised of 10-12 tracks of mostly rock music blend. They are very eclectic musicians, and in writing a new album (after all this time) the finished product will be something to admire. Young plays drums, while Dupuis plays bass.  Both musicians are singer songwriters on (mostly) acoustic guitars.  "We couldn't get a lot of people interested in the central Oklahoma area, so we decided to say . . . fuck it.  Start working on an album and see where exactly it goes to," says Dupuis. The 12 tracks on Hallucinations . . . was split 6 to 6.  Both musicians pulled 6 acoustic tracks and put them on the album, and then they went back and recorded bass, drums, electric guitars, keyboards, samples, percussion and vocals.  Most of the songs sound like a group of five people or more, but in actuality it was only Young and Dupuis.  "Our story is a little embarrassing, I (Dupuis) personally don't like to write music that we can't play live.  But most of the local musicians are working in shitty indie bands pretending they are the next big thing, and trying to look cool instead of just writing good music.  Death Throes is a product of honest musicianship, and will always be just that.  Our music is like a journal entry for a time in our lives, and even with every douchebag on the planet paving the way we wont settle and play their tune, they will bend and try to play ours."
