In their debut album “House on Fire” Maplerun moves smart and smooth from various metal/ nu metal territories influenced by acts like Slipknot,Deftones,Metallica etc to more atmospheric landscapes like the ones Adam Jones(Tool) and Steve Wilson (Porcupine Tree) have created throughout their discography. This album is a blend of a good dosage of aggression with catchy grooves and hooklines and slower, ballad-like moments to move both mainstream and underground liking parts of the audience, like Stone Sour accomplished. Nice ,straight up and distinctive vocals, interesting lyrics, two guitars players playing aggressive riffs but also using effects in an atmospheric manner, displaying lots of technical skills all over this combination .Great and tight rhythm section following a variety of patterns and using double kicks with sparingness. Overall a really impressive effort, honest ,modern and appealing to a wide variety of fans who dig the above mentioned bands-influences ,but also seek a unique sounding new band, a cd that can stay in the changer for multiple hearing sessions. The band spent 4 months in Sierra studios between September and December 2007, in order to record what would be their debut album. Maplerun’s debut album ‘House on Fire’, produced by the band itself, was released in late September 2008 by Shift Records. The band has already signed two promotional agreements concerning promotion, touring and distribution in Belgium (Musicarena) and the United Kingdom (SLW Promotions, Two Side Moon). Since the establishment of the band’s myspace site in December 2007 (www.myspace.com/maplerun), Maplerun has had 50000 viewers until today. Through myspace the band came in touch with many radio stations that were interested in playing their music. Concerning the domestic promotion of the band, Maplerun has three promotional offers and intense internet radio playso far. Band Contact Details: Email address: info@maplerun1.com www.myspace.com/maplerun REVIEWS SKRUTT RADIO (SWEDEN) ...if they were from USA they would have surely been really big by now SKYLIGHT WEBZINE(GREECE) ..you have a roler coaster of sound and feelings trapped inside a CD format. Press the play button and help the music escape from there.. I think that an A&R guy should check them out... ROCKHARD MAGAZINE (GREECE) ...I am really happy to witness the existence of Greek bands like Maplerun, who have the ability to directly compete with big names of the international scene. ROCKIN.GR (GREECE) ...‘House on Fire’ is an album that sounds American and combines the craziness of System Of a Down, Nickelback’s attitude, the furiousness of Monster Magnet, Dream Theatre’s brain tripping and Katatonia’s haunting atmosphere. POP & ROCK MAGAZINE (GREECE) .... House on Fire is one of them albums that need to be in your car while you are driving on the highway, offering you heavy metal guitar riffs and classic ballads. METAL TEMPLE (GREECE) ...what I am trying to say about MAPLERUN is that if they were in a big (non Greek) label that was willing to invest money on them and help them with the production and the promotion, they would definitely sell big time! They surely got the talent, all they need is someone to trust them and help them get high!
