Biography

Maribel is a native of New Jersey who moved to Florida to pursue other musical opportunities. Some of her past achievements are being Lead Vocalist for Parental Guidance and the Jazz Ensemble of Carteret High School (3 years). Maribel is a native of New Jersey who moved to Florida to pursue other musical opportunities. Some of her past achievements are being Lead Vocalist for Parental Guidance and the Jazz Ensemble of Carteret High School (3 years). While in the bands, they competed throughout NJ and at Festivals of Music. She was awarded Best Vocal Solo in 1995 and 1996. While in PG, she was honored to open up for The Tower of Power (1993) and Tito Puente (1995) at CHS. Maribel also received the New Jersey Network-Images/Imagines Celia Cruz Award for Best Teen Vocalist in 1996. She was named winner of the Best Unsigned Latin Artist of the Year category in the Big Time Talent Show for 2003 in Boca Raton, FL. Maribel started singing professionally in a wedding band, The Riviera Band, in her late teens. At 21, she joined Fuerza Latina, a latin cover band, as lead female vocalist. There she performed at the majority of the latin clubs in the tri-state area. She enjoyed it so much; she branched out to pursue a solo career. While in the music circle, she was introduced to prominent members of the industry. She was able to sing along side Kevin Ceballo, past Universal Recording Artist, when he was lead vocalist for La Elite, Isidro Infante's Orchestra. Today, she is his background vocalist. In Florida, she has performed with signed artists and local bands including Tito Nieves, Hector Tricoche, Oscar De Leon, Rey Ruiz, Jose Nogueras, Anthony Cruz; Charlie Cruz; Frankie Negron; Domenic Marte; Bizcochito, Gerry Galante, Pedro Jesus and many more. She has also appeared on entertainment specials for Telemundo and performed the Natinal Anthem several times for the Houston Astros games, the Florida Seals and the NIFL. Her first solo production, entitled "Me Toca A Mi", was released in January 2007. The entire latino community will enjoy this tropical production. She has included a Vallenato, a Bachata, 2 balads and a typical Trio song along with six Salsa tracks. Maribel is not only a quality vocalist, she is also the author of six tracks on "Me Toca A Mi" like "Tu Turno", the first single, "Esperanza" and Desilucion".
