Biography

I was born and raised in Texas and like most Texicans my interest in music began early in life. Living in Texas I was exposed to all types of music, rock, blues, country, folk, and Tejano. And like most good Texans I sang in church and school choirs. But deviated from the norm when I began playing oboe in several school bands. After moving to Navasota the official Blues Capital of Texas and home of blues legend Mance Libscomb I got my hands on my uncles 57 Les Paul Special and at 16 began to cut my teeth with various Texas cover bands Hidden Image, Albatross, and Shagnasty to name a few. Hidden Image was voted the best band in Texas by Texas World Speedway, Albatross if only in namesake was were featured on MTV Basement Tapes in the early days, and Shagnasty opened for various national music acts. While visiting Austin I gave Texas guitar wizard Eric Johnson a guitar lesson in the art of tapped harmonics. Yeah it's true, I taught Eric how to do tapped harmonics. In all fairness, I learned the technique from Eddie. I also met guitar legend Grady Martin in Austin at an audition for a music act Willie Nelson was putting together. In case you didn't know, Grady Martin is credited with the first recorded fuzz guitar in the history of music. The following week my favorite guitar magazine featured Grady Martin. Hmm, I should have got his autograph... I have had the privilege of working with contemporary Christian music artists Phillips Craig and Dean, Mikaila, and Messanic music artist Ted Pearce. I have also worked with gospel music artists Dorothy Norwood, Cynthia Green of The Brooklyn Tabernacle Choir and have worked with several ministries in the Dallas area including Steve Solomon's River walk Fellowship, Rohn Bailey, Power and Authority Tabernacle Choir, The Met, Global Glory, Tom Dooley, 91.7 Power FM, DayStar Christian television, and Behind the Wire prison ministry. I recorded my first CD Human Sacrifice with Christian music artist Big Methuselah in 2000. btw, Andy Timmons was the other guitarist featured on Human Sacrifice. The band Big Methuselah was voted one of the top 20 Unsigned Artist who Rock by the legendary Christian rock magazine 7 balls. 7 balls top 20 list also included platinum music artists Mercy Me and Pillar. I recorded my 2nd CD inneractive with worship leader extraordinaire Rohn Bailey in 2002. In 2005 I began experimenting with ambient, electronica, and Latin music and recorded my first solo CD Sojourn in 2005. I continued recording and have released additional recordings over the last few years. What else about me...I continue recording music and occasionally play concerts showcasing my original music. I also started playing with Dallas cover band Tejas Kings.
