Born and raise in Saxis, Virginia, Mark began playing guitar at age eight. He played in church and at local community events but soon got the bug to perform. At age 19, he formed the band Chesapeake. Born and raise in Saxis, Virginia, Mark began playing guitar at age eight. He played in church and at local community events but soon got the bug to perform. At age 19, he formed the band Chesapeake. Only after a few performances, the band became the hot ticket with a packed schedule. They played local and regional clubs, the Delaware State Fair, and Virginia State Fair. In 1995, Mark decided to move to Nashville to pursue his dream only to find that it wasn't that easy. While working a full time job, he played as many club as he could fit into his busy schedule. He continued to network with music industry executives and build contacts. After one year, he moved back to the Shore and started the band Wild Horses. In 2001, he decided that he couldn't give up on his dream and moved back to Nashville. This time determined to make Music Row take notice. He worked full time pursuing music and developing his songwriting skills. Not long after moving to Nashville, he was introduced to Dave Gant, keyboard player for Garth Brooks. He became his advocate and manager. He got to network with some of the best in business such as Pam Lewis, Rick Webb, David Lee, Chris Wallin, Chris Bradley, Rick McClure, Chris Ogelsby, and Mike Doyle. He opened at the famous Wild Horse Saloon for Doug Stone. He played such venues as The Broken Spoke, The Sulter, The French Quarter, The Hall of Fame, Douglass Corner, Blue Desert and the famous Blue Bird Cafe. He was even blessed with his favorite country star, Joe Diffie, to come to one of his performances. Currently, Mark resides in Belle Haven, VA with his wife and son. He continues to write music and perform every opportunity he gets. His music has been featured on WESR 103.3, WVES 99.3, BEY Country 97.9 and Froggy 99.9. He is currently working on his new album at Sound Station with producer Kevin Doughty. In 2007, Mark video for “The Sound of Lonely” was chosen as one of the 64 finalist in CMT’s Music City Madness Competition.
