About Metric Man
Metric a.k.a. "The Freedom Fighter" was born in a place called Laventille Road, San Juan, Trinidad. He was born to a family of four boys (he being the first). In the year of 1989 his parents ended their relationship and his mom migrated to the United States of America. Metric being nine (9) years old at the time had no choice in the matter but to stay with his dad and become a responsible child to ensure the survival of his three (3) younger brothers whenever his dad was out at work making ends meet. He soon ventured into the "streets" only to realize his love for music was not just ordinary but it was a blessing from the most high God.
Soon he was recognized by the community and yearned to form a duo. This was the birth of Kulture Klan, featuring Brian Cummings aka Metric and Keon Stuart aka Dan Pachino. At the age of fifteen the two young men started performing at a variety of underground clubs and backyard parties, music competitions, mc battles etc. Metric fought to keep his mind on mastering his talent . A member of the then Rapso fraternity, he blessed the mic with his now conscious lyrics. Constantly moving forward he eventually migrated to the United States of America. Now recording and producing tracks in New York, New Jersey, Virginia and Washington DC just to name a few states.
Where he began working with underground hip-hop groups like Street Made Family, T Mobb, Black Diamonds, S.K.I (Nigeria). In Brooklyn, he found himself in the folds of Ground Off Production team, Conquering Force Movement, Harmony Productions and Shumpie Productions. He also done work with artist and producers such as Amiral, Arlene, Bevon, Chromatics, Dainjamentalz ,Dj Wartone, Dexx, Durant, Everbless, Fari, Fryktion, Fearless, Fyah Stone, G-Slim, Gail-Ann, I da Terrible, Kaya Man, Jah Bami, Khari Khill, Killa Kel, K-Dawg, Kinday, Lamar "Beebo" Pollard, Omarijaffe/ Oasis1, Natty Kasha, Pelico, Raye, Suga Daddy, Shirlene, Smokey, Squig, Thick Sauce just to name a few artists.
Metric is a prolific writer, producer, recording artist and a versatile entertainer that is filled with boundless conscious lyrics focusing on the unfair treatment of the less fortunate people and life in it's general content. He is a "third dimensional" artist that always tackles your ear and mind from angles that you never expect with his lyricism. When asked, what he wants to achieve in his musical career he calmly smiles and said "to represent the struggle for equal rights and justice" and "to be able to inform, educate and empower the young and the young at heart, recently he hired Umoja Entertainment Productions, CEO Victor Calhoun, as his new manager and management company.
