About Michele Anastasio

Port St. Lucie, FL

With the release of her 1999 London-recorded CD Good Morning Heartache, Michele began enjoying airplay on radio stations around the globe. This was followed in 2001 by More!, also recorded in London and which has garnered rave reviews and widespread airplay

Mike Stoller of the Grammy winning song-writing team Lieber and Stoller remarked, “Michele Anastasio has a beautiful voice and is a wonderful singer, I applaud her work!

Michele’s professional career began at 13,performing in regional and dinner theater productions. During that time, she began her studies at two of New York’s most prestigious schools for music and drama, the American Academy of Dramatic Arts and the American Musical and Dramatic Academy

At 17, Michele was admitted into the British Drama League’s intensive program for drama in London, England. On her return she was cast in Michele Legrande’s The Umbrellas of Cherbourg presented at Joseph Papps’ New York Shakespeare Festival’s Public Theater, the city’s largest off-Broadway theater. The jingle scene then beckoned with accounts for Jordache Jeans, California Raisins, and many other fine products

Venturing into the world of Jazz and Pop, she joined the Swing Fever Orchestra and the Alan Russell Orchestra, performing at the historic Roseland Ballroom in New York City. Gigs at the Rainbow Room, The Cat Club, Café Society, The Red Blazer, and The Copacabana gave Michele a new respect for American popular music

During this time, Michele was chosen for the position of resident national anthem singer at Giants Stadium, and the Brendan Byrne Arena for the New York Cosmos Soccer team. This association continued for six years, and spawned other performances of the national anthem for the New York Mets and New York Yankees baseball teams, the New Jersey Generals, and the New York Rangers at Madison Square Garden

She continued on to do her own act in Atlantic City, at Merv Griffin’s Resorts International Hotel and Casino, and to Northern Ireland to sing for the BBC’s live broadcast of “The Joker Club,” with Grammy winning flautist James Galway. After returning from 18 months of performances in Europe, Michele appeared as a soloist with the Musicians Union Chorus Local 802, New York, at the famed Carnegie Hall

Michele has forged a fruitful and blessed association with The Music of Your Life Radio Network performing with the Nelson Riddle Orchestra; Buddy Morrow and the Tommy Dorsey Orchestra; Herb Oscar Anderson, Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and Museum of Broadcasting inductee, Morning Mayor of New York DJ; The Drifters and The Coasters, world renowned Rock and Roll Hall of Famers; Maria Muldaur; and Johnny Lee and his Urban Cowboy Band performing her tribute to Patsy Cline

Hold My Hand, now recorded in 15 languages has had the great honor of being performed at the Pentagon in Washington, DC, and will be placed in President George W.
