Bio / Why-O Well, let's see... I was born in Oklahoma. As soon as I realized where I was I quickly hi-tailed it to Texas, hopping back and forth between Lubbock and Amarillo for my first 25 years. For my 13th birthday I got a big ol' cheapie Kay guitar and locked myself away for months learning to play... I learned every Hank Williams tune and thought I could yodel. I also loved Buddy Holly.By 14, I knew how to tune it, though rarely did so. I contracted a rare throat disease now known as BobDylanitis which destroyed my singing voice and I soon lost my spot on the Austin Jr. High School Singing Christmas Tree.I was voted to receive the Mr. Uglyman award for my talents at Amarillo High School.Sometime afterward I spent a while in Albuquerque as a poor gals bad excuse for a husband. Then I limped back to Amarillo busted, with only my trusty Yamaha 175 dirt-bike and a 1957 Martin 000-18 in the back of an old Chevy pick-up driven by my friend Robert.A crazy twist of fate turned a camping trip to Mexico into residency in Tempe, AZ. where I hooked up with the Texas country band, Yesterday's Wine. I travelled with the Winos a bit writing songs for them and pretending to be a sound man.For some reason (that is still unclear to me), I ended up back in Amarillo and married again. Apparently I did not learn a damn thing about marriage the first time around and was equally as bad at it the second time. However, this time I was married to a strong-willed, good Christian, masochistic woman who wanted to stay married to me much more than the 1st wife did. She failed anyway... I lost the old Martin in a pawn shop, but I kept the heat on that winter.I continued to carry on the "Wino" tradition.... (others died trying)....and I moved to So. California where my 3rd wife is paying me back for all of the things that I did to women previously. Thanks girls for the vast pool of material that you have given me to write songs about!Love!Mickey
