Several years ago Mike Geier stepped into Hollywood, determined to make a living as a musician, unknowing of the challenges and obstacles facing him. It started with an idea, a personal computer, and tiny apartment and cultivated into a world class studio with world class sound and songs that could get the non-music addict hooked.
Born in Greensburg, Pennsylvania, Mike began playing piano at age 12 and soon after was introduced to the drum set. He played in his high school jazz band, as well as in numerous local rock bands. He performed everywhere, from bars, clubs, parties, festivals, and maybe even your prom. He was that pale skinny kid with the spiky black hair.
Mostly self taught, Mike picked up playing bass, and guitar, as well as becoming a student of singing and songwriting. With over 50 songs written by the age of 20, and with the advent of digital home recording, Mike began to record his own songs, while searching for the perfect band mates to execute them on stage. In the process, out of demand to eat and pay rent, Mike started to produce and record other artists, slowly building his own recording empire. Through quality of work and word of mouth, Mike was able to build "The Hidden Studio."
Running his own successful recording studio was not enough however, and Mike remained dedicated to his songs and his vision to hear them on the "big" stage. Several band line-ups and several band names later, after years of soaking in the good and the bad of the music industry(as a producer and performer), Mike Geier is a solo artist and has seen clarity. He would like to make it simple. "I want to write the best songs possible, record them at the highest quality, and put on the best show I know how".
There is not a record label, a special power, or pill that can make this possible; just a will, dedication, ingenuity, experience, and talent. There is still an idea and a computer, as Mike Geier has become perhaps the first to create a ground breaking, fully automated live show, with real instruments, thru a computer. Mike has traded in the apartment for "The Hidden Studio" and has traded in the rules of the industry for the freedom of an entrepreneur.
