Biography

Mike Goodrick is a storyteller. The young artist is soaked with genuine narratives dripping from his open guitar strings, while anecdotes and notes reverberate in each barefooted step he takes. Goodrick’s gentle demeanor and shy sideways smile allow him to seem approachable and “at home” no matter where he may be, though in the past year he’s played a staggering marathon of 150 shows in 43 states. Consequently, the rough, high tide of the untamed road and honest tribulations as a touring musician serves as the inspiration of many of Goodrick's songs. Goodrick’s fresh and raw hometown pop sound unravels in the sophomore full-release, “What You Do When I’m Gone.” Previously primarily performing as an acoustic solo act, Goodrick has shared the stage with bands he has admired and respected, including, NeverShoutNever, PlayRadioPlay, John Nolan (of Taking Back Sunday) and MXPX. In “What Your Do When I’m Gone,” Goodrick’s pure acoustic sound enhances its color while spreading its wings to take flight with a full band ensemble. Those that have loved Goodrick’s naked voice and bare-bones acoustic sound are hardly left longing—the artist’s trademark energy, humility, and honesty have never been more evident: "This new album opened up some new doors and opened my eyes. This project needs a full band sound so I have invited some of my best friends to join me on this journey. ‘Mike Goodrick’ as you know it will no longer just be me, but also our band name. It will be WE instead of ME from now on", says Goodrick. He concludes by saying, "But don't worry, I'm still the same guy and its still the music you love, we just have more people to enjoy it with." “What You Do When I’m Gone,” released in November of 2010.
