About Michael Owen Miller I was born Michael Owen Miller in a small, rural town in Colllins, Mississippi to Michael and Katherine Miller. I was the oldest of three boys. Daddy always provided for us to the best of his ability. We never had a lot of material things but we had the most important thing, each other. Because of my mother, there was never a dull moment around our house. She always kept somthing going. Strong family values and music was a must to my mom! Mother passed away in the early 80's and every time I pick-up my guitar or start to write, I think of her beause she was my inspiration and always will be. I wrote my first song when I was fourteen years old and realized through time that God gave me a special gift not only to write music from my heart but the ability to sing and play it. My music career has blessed me to play on stages with stars such as Charlie Daniels, Willie Nelson, BTO, Billy Ray Cyrus and Lonestar. Thanks to good friends like Rick Johndon and Donnie Brown, I have been able to play my music in many states including Hawaii as well as Panama City, Panama. As I played with big names, I often wondered what it would be like to be them, and then I realized I am. The most important thing to me is to touch someone's life with my music. When music is real, meaning that it comes from your heart, it does not matter if you are playing for two people around a campfire, 50,000 people in a concert hall, on your own front porch or half way around the world. What is important is that you give it your all, know that you did your best and you were able to share a part of yourself with them in a way they will never forget. While continuing to play music, I am also a licensed general contractor. God has blessed me not only to build houses but also to be creative enough to draw custom design house plans. I enjoy working with people, helping to build their first home or expand their existing dwelling, but music is and always will be my first passion. Nothing makes me happier than when I pick up my guitar and share a part of myself with others and see them relate to it with a smile, if only for a short time. I have tried a long time to make it in the music business; I have come to understand what old songs like, "Old Violin" by Johnny Paycheck means. Through the course of life with my music, I know that God has a reason for blessing me to have the ability to write and sing. Through God's help and good friends, I will travel my path and continue wherever it leads. I want to share my life's experiences through music every day and every time an opportunity presents itself to share a part of me until the day I die! -
