Alias: Milli Age: 23 Hometown: Annapolis, Maryland Label: Keep It Raw Entertainment Being known for a raspy voice and having a significant selection of words can be a creative combination when all being put to a hot beat. Just ask any of the raspy voice phenominons to leave there foot prints in the game from: Jadakiss, Pharrel, Young Jeezy, Young Joc , Lloyd Banks and even David Banner to name a few. All who are easily recognized because of there unquie vocal tones. On February 11th, 1986, Derrick Wallace Jr ( Milli ) was born with this gift. On that day In Maryland's city capital of Annapolis, or in slang-terms "Aclapolis, Murderland" who would have knew his few giggles and cries, would later present powerful words expressed through hip-hop. The first few growing years for Milli were balanced being that he had something that most of his close friends didn't have... a home that consisted of both parents. This would soon change at the age of 6 when Milli witnessed household issues escalate into his parents seperation. Life quickly changed for Milli, forcing him to become a man of the house quicker then he expected. Milli's mother, a single mom working overtime had moved them to one of Annapolis worst public housing communities, "Robinwood". Instantly obsorbing the essence of the drug life, money, and violence he noticed he had a choice to make, either street life, or school life. Throughout elementary and middle school Milli was able to keep a positive focus occupying his time with school and sports. In the back of his mind he still had that urge for fast cash and a flashy lifestyle that a lot of the so-called "Role-Models" lived by. This curiousity led to Milli experimenting with the occupation of being a drug dealer. Months before the highschool era began for Milli, he linked up with a early childhood friend "Tre", who also had the same music passion as him. As kids both Tre and Milli played around as if they had a band, playing mini guitars and drums in there spare time. Meeting up again in the future sparked the beginning of a dynasty. Fortunately at the time Tre's dad was hosting, and d.j'ing local parties and he had the right recording equipment in there home to play with. Thats where it all began. Without permission to use the equipment they began to write all night, and recorded when Tre's dad was at work. Curious of what others would think they began to leak the secret about there newfound band. They first told Cell ( Milli's Cousin) about rap and how they were recording, which he also became interested so they coached him. It was many months later when Tre's dad realized what was happening while he was at work. He soon put a end to the recording because he didn't think they were mature enough with the expensive equipment. There was then a halt in the music plans for many months later until Cell decided to build a computer based studio out of his bedroom. They then began recording again and building a fan base to go with it. As they reached highschool they met up with Tre's longtime friend Black who also took interest in rap. It was then they formed there infamous group "Keep it Raw". While in highschool Milli actually took more of a focus in sports then music because it seemed like better plan to rely on being well known for his talent and speed in football and track and field. Football was his ultimate passion in life, although the other group members took a interest in other things, it didn't break there bond with making music. It was long before the "Raw's" roster got stronger with the addition of NEM and Young H a rapper/fashion designer who would play a major role in the groups progress. The music began to get stronger and Keep it Raw took the city by storm with the release of there first mixtape The Comp 1. This cd which also featured Raw members Greeny, Kojo, and Freeze, got the raw up and running. Since then Milli is still a Keep it Raw member. And is now working and raising a newborn son. All members are still going strong making the moves needed for "The Raw" to reach star status. As the famous quote of John Updike say's: “Dreams come true. Without that possibility, nature would not incite us to have them". So as you see his dream is to rap and he will pursue it until he reaches the top
