Since forming in Vancouver in late fall of 2007, Missing Starla has awed audiences throughout Western Canada with their unique sound. It's members have gathered musical experiences from the Victoria, Montreal and Toronto scenes and brought them together into a distinctive sound that has been likened to Modest Mouse, the Cure, the Counting Crows and Sam Roberts. Catchy songs like Analie, which showcase their ability to blend an upbeat melody with lyrics that emotionally connect with listeners, have fueled the band's steadily growing momentum. The continual creation of impressive new material and energetic live performances are firmly establishing Missing Starla as one of the most exciting new talents on the Canadian independent music scene. For the many ladies named Starla who have contacted the band regarding their name, "Missing Starla" was ripped from a missing cat posting in their neighborhood. When her owners became aware of the band, they contacted them and let them know Starla was found on the brinks of starvation but is now happily back home. While the owners have been to several Missing Starla shows, the band is still waiting for Starla the cat to attend. Missing Starla is Jamey Adirim on vocals, Jeff Gabert on Bass, Brian Kingston on drums and Victor Hugo Cobian on lead guitar. Their self-titled debut EP is available on Itunes.
