Mistaloo Meff (a.k.a. Loo Heffner, a.k.a. The Toymaker) began his career as an emcee on the campus of Hampton University in Hampton, Virginia during the early to mid 1990’s. There he developed his prowess for lyricism after meeting with emcees Verbal Math and Subtext. Mistaloo Meff became relentless in his pursuit of success in the entertainment industry. Meff began to sharpen his skills as a producer and was ushered with the guidance and support of artists in the Milwaukee’s hip hop scene.
Mistaloo grew up immersed in art and music. His musical influences include, EWF, The Doors, Stevie Wonder, and Parliament/Funkadelic, Rakim, Nas, Eminem, and De La Soul just to name a few. The science fiction and fantasy masterpieces such as Star Wars, Star Trek, Akira, and The Matrix inspired him. Mistaloo has developed his visual artistic aesthetic to reflect a sometimes-dark portrayal of the future while still bringing an irreverent brand of humor and mystique to media and dubbed his sound “Matrix Music.” As a songwriter, producer, emcee, performer, videographer and graphic artist his work reflects a fusion of satire, spiritual consciousness and humor to communicate the human condition in the 21st century.
On 8/08/08, disillusioned by the state of Hip Hop and popular music he combined forces with a collective of Milwaukee’s hottest artists to create the musical enclave known as Section 8 Entertainment.
