2003 - Ivan, Rik, JJ and Eliana decided to form the Motherstone; they didn't just want to form a and, but a whole project, in any point of view. They wanted to explore the American style of the metal wave originated from the other side of the Atlantic Ocean and fulfill it with introspective and powerful features; the legacy of the European music scene. 2004 - After a long period of changing their guitar players continuously, they finally found the man that gave them enough balance; Valerio. The presence of Valerio in the band led to the recording of the live demo "Just a Little Dose" soon. 2005 - This European nu-metal production pointed to the fact that the Motherstone band needed a new starting point in order to improve. "Just A Little Dose" made it clear to them that their undoubtable kills would have a better yield with a more powerful voice and more ggressive riffs. On February 28th they added Daniele to their group, who brought in a positive mood and a creative atmosphere with him. Although turning them into a powerful rock band, this led to the resignation of Valerio and he quit the band. This sudden change meant that the band had no more than one guitarist, which did not have anything rather than a negative result. The five romans left worked hard in the next few months to complete the project and focus on the unsolved parts of the puzzle such as creating a new website (www.motherstone.it), new equipment, a new studio (the Motherstone Metal House) and the production of an EP to show and release the changes. 2006 - "Through The Paths Of Insanity", released in January, recorded by Christian Ice at the Temple Of Noise Studio's is a four track synthesis of the emotions Motherstone felt when writing these songs. Anger, power and energy are the right characteristics of Motherstone's peculiar features, like Eliana's vocal parts' euphony, Ivano's dissonances, Daniele's thrash riffing, Riccardo's precision and Giorgio's deep scratches, satisfying the roman band's ambitions completely. "Through The Paths Of Insanity" is a mixture of Bay Area's sounds and Scandinavian Metal features, putting itself forward as a new starting point for a truly, intimately, damn powerful band. This EP made the band have glorius reviews on some of the most important italian metal magazines and on almost all of the metal italian and international webzines. This year saw the band performing on many Italian regions' stages and continue working on an already started new project to be released the next year. 2007 - On March the band released the videoclip of "Through The Paths Of Insanity" directed by Riccardo Frediani and in the middle of such a very productive season for the band, Motherstone and Eliana started having different point of views about the future of the band and the offers coming from Italian and international labels. In a few, passionate, days, they split. The search of a new female singer started immediately and after many months of castings Motherstone met Vale in September. This long search obviously delayed the release of a new album and the whole project as well. In a few days Vale was ready to rule the stage together with Motherstone on a gig they had with Infernal Poetry in Rome to introduce this new singer to the audience. A few weeks after, the band decided to decline all labels' offers and to work with Christian Ice as art director and co-producer. The band spent one month making a pre-production at the MMH and on December 9th started recording the new album at the Temple Of Noise Studio's with Christian Ice. 2008 - Motherstone spent the first five months of the year recording "Biolence", to be released on June 1st when introduced to the audience during the live show at the Jailbreak Club in Rome sharing the stage with Exilia. This 13 tracks and more than one hour of pure heavy metal concept album, is based, as suggested by its title, on that natural violence living inside all of us and which is sometimes delivered in acts of pure insanity. Motherstone decided to link this concept to some of the sadest Italian crime events of the last decades. Biolence is a perfect summary of Motherstone's aims along the past three years. JJ's death metal growls, DaniHell's thrash riffs, Ivan's fat bass lines, Rik's solid patterns and Vale's incredibly melodic voice all together give Biolence that refined, powerful and heavy taste the band has been looking for. Christian Ice's work on the mixer gave it all that modern, clean and american-flavoured sound, common on mainstream's productions from the U.S. or Northern Europe.
