Singer, song writer and producer Evan “Nave’” Hancock was born on October 10, 1992 in Kansas City, Missouri. Nave’ enjoyed singing in church growing up as a kid. He always had something to sing about and half of the time it didn’t’ make since, he would sing because he loved to. His father Glenn Hancock directed choirs for twenty plus years. Nave’s father, aunt and uncles had a gospel group called “The Hancock Singers” under his Grandmother Betty White. A lot of his musical influence came from his family of music. As Nave’ got older he began learning his own personal skills in music from creating songs to making productions on fruity loops for a start. All though Nave’ was into music he was also a talented dancer. Being an entertainer was all his heart desired. Nave’ would offend listen to the radio and different styles of music from gospel, R&B, rap and jazz. He would then challenge himself to create music like national artist would. Nave’ even had a lyrical talent to rap but he was more into singing. It took him some time to realize that he had vocal abilities. Nave’ noticed that he had a voice at the age 7 when he sung his first solo in the church choir his father directed. From then on Nave’ loved singing more and more. Around that same age he learned how to play drums on a full set. His biggest influence to drum was his cousin Ryan Lee who is now a professional drummer today. Nave’ would play for his father’s gospel choir as a drummer. Later, Nave’ started writing songs with his older sister from gospel rap to basic rap. Eventually people started to notice the talent he had and would ask him to perform live around the city. Never really being into gospel rap Nave’ still did it for fun and for God’s glory. His older sister gave him his artist name. Nave’ is actually his biological name spelled backwards. In middle school Nave’ recorded his song at a friend’s studio up the block from him. His friends encouraged him to sing on their track and were amazed. This was the real start of his career in music. The girls at school started hearing about Nave’s music and fell in love with it, so by the 8th grade year in middle school Nave’ had a song called “Like This” with his music partner Kells. Nave’ and Kells Created a music group called “Draft-Pick.” Nave’ was the singer and Kells was the rapper. Nave’ grew up making music in his friend Jocqueses’ studio and big brother Cris Emmanuel who now lives in L.A. doing music. In High school Nave’ has built up a fan like never before. He would perform in night clubs around the town with a great performance level. Being so young brought disadvantages because he couldn’t get into a lot of places to perform, if he did he would have to perform then leave. He also started working with pro tools and live studio equipment on his own from mixing it to creating his own sound. He then started recording in a local studio called “Midrange” wit Eric “Studio E” where he learned how to give his vocals a bigger and better sound. Nave’s producing skills got so good that he began selling beats to make money. That same year in high school Nave’ noticed how talented he had become as a pianist. He picked up his piano very easily just like everything else he learned how to do musically. He was never into the school choir but he loved to play as a musician. With little help from anybody he learned how to make music independently though the years. By his junior year Nave’ dropped his first mixed tape called “Mixed Emotions” all through Kansas City. He got the love he’s always wanted from the fans. Nave’ also works with one of the biggest producers in his city know as Mike “Emadyee” Dupree who has production credits for Trey Songz, Young Dro, Tech Nine and T.I.’s latest album No Mercy and also, Antonio “L-Mo” Wesley as a super producer of his. Now fresh out of Center High School Nave’ is looking forward to sharing his career with the world as a national artist performing on stages from city to city and working with big artist in the industry along with his production team “The Union”
