Made up of members Mick, Ethan and Harry, New Age Anthem was started in Kailua Beach, Hawaii in early 2008 by Mick Smith who served as a United States Marine. Pursuing his musical passion while serving his country, Mick played the Hawaii music circuit with some fellow Marines, building his experiences as a musician. New Age Anthem deviated from the norm of Hawaii’s ukulele and surf riding hippy music and started making a name for themselves through Mick’s efforts. Within the following years, Mick had to say goodbye to his old band mates and was re-stationed to 1/23 Weapons Company in Austin, TX. After New Age Anthem’s forced temporary hiatus, Mick found himself waking up in beautiful San Diego where he would later meet Ethan Higgs through the Marines. After hitting it off with a couple beers and M60 rounds, the two headed to the studio for some practice time and along the way stumbled upon Harry Steven. Sitting on a street corner in Ocean Beach with nothing but a set of tattered clothes on, a cold beer in hand and his bass guitar slung on his back, the duo saw a perfect match. Able to persuade Harry to join New Age Anthem with a fresh six pack and promises of a haircut and hot shower, the band had their first practice and from that point on the story tells itself. Their first professional album A.D.D. was recently recorded at Lucid Sound Studios in La Mesa, CA. Recorded with the genius engineering and producing of George Mackris, Drummer and percussionist of Heavy Metal/Rock group Etched, the album is the debut of New Age Anthem’s return to the old school pop punk and grind that has enriched the youth of the world generations over. Currently playing shows around the San Diego area and forever writing new material, expect New Age Anthem continue to rock out So Cal, continue partying as they’re known for, & continue recording their upbeat, energetic, up lifting tunes that we so enjoyably crave…
