About No Fixed Address

Kelvington, Canada

About No Fixed Address - No Fixed Address An original rock band from Kelvington, Saskatchewan; “No Fixed Address” is a five piece organism bringing melody and harmony into a driving rock edge. With their debut album, “Anything but Nothing”, complete; NFA has released the first single “Permanent Scar” to radio in August 2008. No Fixed Address was formed in the summer of 2007, with their first appearance as a guitar quartet at a home town fund raiser. The chemistry was obvious. Soon after, the four Chad Welder (Lead Vocals) Jason Welder (Lead guitar, vocals) Kris Ewen (Rhythm guitar, vocals) Tyson Drummond (Bass, vocals) would incorporate the fifth member, Dustin Drummond (Drums), and begin their journey as an original rock experience.

This was not the first time these guys had done the Rockin’ Roll scene. Chad and Jason had a band back in Allan, SK. where they grew up spending many hours in their parent’s basement jamming. After a few years of entertaining the community and all their friends, they took the band to the city and opened at various night clubs in Saskatoon. After a few years lives took them in separate directions and the band was dismembered, never losing the love of music and the desire to perform. Tyson and Kris were also members of a band growing up in Kelvington. They had a lot of fun performing at local outdoor concerts and did some local entertaining as well as produced a CD composed of their original music. After time some of the band members moved away splitting up the band. And as fate has its way they all ended up in Kelvington, and as musicians do they heard about someone else in the community who shared their love for music and got together to jam one night.

They began with small shows around Kelvington and surrounding towns. Later they would host hall concerts such as the Odeon Events Center in Saskatoon as well as take part in outdoor festivals and exhibitions. NFA has also appeared on the local television show, “Stripped Down”. The program showcased acoustic versions of their original songs. The band entered and a last band standing contest in Yorkton two years ago. Coming in first won them an opening slot for Canadian rockers, “Honeymoon Suite”. No Fixed Address has also shared the stage with classic party bands; “Trooper”, and “Harlequin”. The band loves playing for the people of Saskatchewan and annually hosts an all day outdoor rock festival in Perigord. The band has had success with their original music in a live setting and the debut album, “Anything but nothing”, is receiving radio play and making waves. The goal of creating and showcasing original music for a living is piecing together faster than expected. No Fixed Address has dedicated their album to the memory of Neil Meckelborg, as he passed away before our album was complete The Canadian music industry has lost a great friend.

We have been widely accepted across the province and our fans always seem to want more! We have a very strong fan base and it is growing daily! It is always a good feeling to be opening for a big name and yet there are fans out there asking US for an encore!!

We are a very proud Saskatchewan band looking to show what we’ve got and would love nothing more than a chance to have this experience of a life time and Rock Saskatchewan with some of the best Rockin’ Rollers out there!!

We feel it should be a Saskatchewan band who is given the opportunity to open at Mosaic Stadium as we work really had to get big bands to come to our province and to not have someone from our province represent us in this competition I feel would be unjust.
