Biography

Apollo- the literal driving force behind “Not Here Now”. He’s not your classic tour bus with fully accustomed air conditioning and reliable mechanics, but he gets the job done. A few hours before every show the boys load up all their equipment into this white, oddly humungous, 95 Dodge RAM-350. Band paraphernalia is scattered throughout, stickers on the dashboards, and even glow in the dark stars on the ceilings. Clearly this is a place the guys have learned to call a second home. The practice room, seemingly small and cluttered, is nothing but a bed, a closet, and a full-blown furniture set with amps-as-shelves, tom-tom nightstands, and the masterful art of tons of guitars. The surrender of a room for a better purpose- lyrics of some of their songs on the walls, venue numbers on the dry erase board, no room for other thoughts, its all about music here. Throughout the adversities of “Not Here Now”, Kendrick (Lead Vocals/Bass) has been the one to keep the dream alive, the optimism other band members need when it seems as though the glass will only ever be half empty.. Mario (Guitar), the comedic relief whenever it seems as though the moment has gotten a bit awkward-always ready to put a smile on someone’s face and the epitome of constancy when it comes to playing guitar. Hector (Drummer) is always concerned with the best possible way to further the bands success, even if that means knocking on the tour bus doors of All Time Low just to drop them a demo, a primary source of care for not just their music but for the band as an entity. As the hour gets closer to 6 o’clock everyday the phone calls start coming in. Everyone is ready for practice and will be playing through the set lists for the next show on their list to hopeful stardom. The combinations of sounds which emanate from the room as NHN begins to play are much like those one finds in songs by All Time Low, Mayday Parade, Forever The Sickest Kids, and The Main, enmeshed with their own artistic, pop-punk touches. On the most routine of days the guys can be found working on new songs, developing innovative melodies, and promoting with their well-known “Boy/Girl” stickers at most rock shows in the local Miami area. Their own shows bring in a wide demographic of teenagers and college students who not only appreciate their music but enjoy becoming a part of the performance. Not Here Now: Kendrick, Mario, and Hector, an unmatched combination of musicians joined together with the common mindset that they will one day make it in this difficult industry, no matter the circumstances. The potential, dedication, and positivity that they possess helps them to grow everyday. As is with all things, you cannot have one with out the other. The subtle inconveniences of Apollo, a crammed practice space, and the mere struggles of maintaining a band are all a prelude to a dream that they are living.
