Like the Rolling Stones with soul in their bones, Old Man & the E is a Brooklyn based rock band that pulls inspiration from the greats and gives classic sounds a modern urban spin. “Papa” Joe Torcicollo (guitar) and Ebony Anderson (vocals) met one day in 2006 courtesy of the corporate grind and discovered they had some things in common.. They hated those meetings and they’d rather be rocking! Fusing Joe’s Keith Richard’s meets Joe Perry meets Chuck Berry styled guitar playing with Ebony’s raw gospel tinged vocals and their combined Brooklyn sensibilities Old Man & the E was formed. Looking to fill out their lineup, they began searching for a bassist. After some unfortunate parings and after Ebony kissed a lot of frogs, they stumbled upon Tony Soll. A thumping thundering Bass player that claims roots in both Brixton and Brooklyn. Tony’s done time playing bass with the Neville Brothers and boasts an eclectic mix of influences from country to rock to folk music. Armed with his bass, his quirky sense of humor and a mean harmonica, Tony joined the band in2007. And because there is no rock ‘N’ roll without a drummer, Old Man & The E added Bruce (Stix) Cohen of Queens NY to the mix in 2009. Bruce’s jamming style was influenced by such greats as Buddy Rich, Charlie watts and John Fishman. Bruce holds down the beat all night long and makes it look easy. Old Man & the E likes to party and have a good time with their music and invite you along for the ride. “Cause if you ain’t on the floor..Then you ain’t drunk enough!!” Old Man & the E- All Music No Chaser
