Orkideah sees the light in 2008 when Jonatan Szenazi (guitars) and Carlos Rodriguez (drummer) decide to start with a musical project where they have the chance to get in touch with all their musical influences. Those days with a sound nearer to Progressive Metal, they started with their own compositions, and contacted Lucas Gonzalez (vocals) to start giving shape to this project under the name of Hybrid. After a hard and very long search, on November of 2008, they got in contact with Mario Coronel, keyboard player witch have been participating in different bands like Boanerges. From that moment, there was a little change on the compositions, which were now much more direct, reaming on some prog arrangements but in shorter songs, using some influences of Nü Metal bands and Metalcore bands of mid 90s and nowadays, helped by the use of samplers and sequencers on this sound. In April 2009 joins the band Pablo Leon Blejer in the bass guitar and completes finally the first line up of the band. After a long year of waiting, the band was now ready to achieve the different goals, and having 7 finished songs, they picked up 4 of them to record them on what may come to be their first Ep. On September 2009, due to musical differences, Carlos Rodriguez left the band. After he left, the band started auditioning drummers, at the same time that changed it name to Orkideah, name taken from the flower of warm weathers which has the particularity to adapt every single weather on the planet, except of the arid African deserts and the poles. This would represent the musical diversity and the heterogeneity of textures on the songs. After a long search, finally on December of 2009 Diego Borsoi, former member of the power metal band Ethernia, fills the place of drummer. They could find him on a metal forum playing the drums of the song Soul Decoded of the band Divine Heresy. Diego begins with the rehearsals on December 2009, and on February of 2010 the got into the studio to record the first Orkideah´s Ep in Virtual Studios, a well known studio from argentine with Emiliano Obregon of the band Lorihen as sound engineer. Now on May of 2010 Orkideah is finishing new material to complete the 10 songs of their debut album which will be recorded ending this year. At the same time, is playing live to show their material and start a feedback with similar bands.
